Battersea Power Station Hosts Event Promoting Inclusive Employment Across London

Driving Inclusive Growth Through Quality Employment
The event, titled Good Work for London: Driving Inclusive Growth Through Quality Employment, took place at 50 Electric Boulevard, bringing together leading voices from business, local government, and community organisations.
Speakers included Howard Dawber OBE, Deputy Mayor of London for Business and Growth; Councillor Kemi A., Deputy Leader of Wandsworth Council and Cabinet Lead for Business Engagement; and representatives from Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC), the GLA, Ethos Farm, the Living Wage Foundation, and BusinessLDN.
Spotlight on the Good Work Standard
The event highlighted the Mayor of London’s Good Work Standard, an accreditation that recognises employers who demonstrate excellence in fair pay, employee wellbeing, skills development, and diversity and inclusion.
Following its own accreditation last year, BPSDC shared insights into the positive impact of the scheme on its workforce and local partners. The company encouraged other businesses across the Battersea riverside neighbourhood to adopt the standard and commit to providing high-quality employment opportunities.
Supporting London’s Fair and Sustainable Economy
The Good Work Standard is part of the Mayor of London’s wider mission to build a fairer, more inclusive economy, one that enables both employers and employees to thrive.
By hosting the event, Battersea Power Station reaffirmed its dedication to supporting inclusive growth, ethical business practices, and the creation of a resilient, community-focused local economy.
