Southport SME Farmhouse Kitchen Wins National Titles at British Pie Awards

A Southport-based small business has taken centre stage at one of the UK’s most prestigious food competitions after securing multiple national titles at the British Pie Awards.

Family-run pie makers Farmhouse Kitchen and The Grazing Lounge were named Small Producer Champion, recognising the best small-scale pie producer in the country. The accolade highlights the overall quality, consistency and creativity of a business’s full range of pies rather than just a single entry.

The Southport SME is run by mother-and-son team Terri and Rob Marshall, who have built the brand around handmade pies, innovative recipes and a strong focus on local customers. Their win places the independent business among the UK’s leading artisan food producers.

In addition to the overall small producer title, Terri Marshall was also crowned Dessert Pie Champion for her creation “Lord Bear’s Pudding Pie,” judged to be the best sweet pie in the country. Another entry, “Lady Grazer,” received a Highly Commended award in the Steak & Wine category.

The team submitted a record 14 pies across ten different categories this year, marking their largest entry into the national competition to date.

Speaking after the awards ceremony, Rob Marshall said the recognition demonstrates how small independent businesses can compete with larger producers on a national stage.

“We’re absolutely ecstatic,” he said. “We’re a small pie shop and restaurant in the North West, so to come away with national titles like this means the world to us.”
