Small and Mighty Programme Returns to Support UK Micro Businesses With Growth

Small businesses and sole traders will have another opportunity to access practical guidance and mentoring this month as the Small and Mighty Enterprise Programme returns for its latest six week programme.
Delivered by Small Business Britain, the programme is designed specifically for sole traders and micro businesses looking to strengthen their operations and identify opportunities for future growth. The latest programme is due to begin on 18 September 2026 and will be delivered entirely online, allowing businesses across the UK to take part without needing to travel.
The programme comes at a time when many smaller businesses are looking for practical ways to improve productivity, develop new opportunities and build greater resilience. For smaller firms without access to dedicated business development teams or external consultants, structured mentoring can provide a way to work through some of the challenges associated with growing a business.
Participants will receive access to weekly live sessions, with recordings made available through a private online platform. Weekly worksheets will also be provided to help businesses put the lessons from each session into practice.
A key part of the programme is its mentoring element. Participants will receive one hour of one to one and group mentoring during the six weeks, giving business owners the opportunity to work with experienced mentors and discuss challenges alongside other small business owners.
The programme also provides access to a private community where participants can exchange experiences, ask questions and connect with other entrepreneurs. This peer support is intended to give smaller businesses an opportunity to learn from businesses facing similar challenges.
The programme will conclude with a growth plan designed to help participants identify opportunities over the following year. For micro businesses, having a structured plan can provide a clearer focus around where to invest time and resources as they look to develop.
The return of the programme also forms part of a wider range of support available to smaller businesses across Wales and the UK. Business Wales provides guidance for businesses looking to start, develop and grow, while other initiatives are increasingly focused on areas including finance, technology, productivity and access to markets.
For businesses considering expansion, support programmes such as Small and Mighty can offer an opportunity to step back from the day to day running of a company and focus on longer term priorities. The online format may also make the programme more accessible to owners who would otherwise struggle to attend face to face sessions.
With the latest six week programme beginning on 18 September, sole traders and micro businesses interested in taking part can find further information and registration details through Small Business Britain.
